A NEW CHAPTER

A New Home After 24 Years

After 24 years at the same location in a cramped space with little daylight, this regional, consumer-owned natural food retailer sought a new home for its headquarters. The open plan incorporates modest workstations and ample public spaces that take full advantage of the new location's stunning views, complemented by a neutral palette, natural materials, and pops of color throughout.

A VISION SHAPED BY ITS OWN PEOPLE

A group of young PCC workplace shareholders participated alongside the client team throughout the design process, helping identify both opportunities and challenges for the future of the company. Their input shaped a highly collaborative vision — a workplace culture built on openness, engagement, and shared purpose, not handed down from the top.

MATERIALS

A Palette Rooted in Authenticity
The background palette features polished concrete, locally sourced wood, raw steel, and soft white structural elements. Reclaimed wood planks clad the entry façade and workstation end panels, while phenolic-coated MDF work surfaces and brightly colored seat pads on mobile pedestals let employees personalize their own space.

GRAPHIC IDENTITY

Graphics That Tell PCC's Story
Striking nature-based graphics run throughout the office, reinforcing PCC's connection to sustainability, local sourcing, and the Pacific Northwest at every turn down the hall.

COMMUNITY

Spaces Built Around Shared Purpose
Community-focused gathering spaces are integrated throughout the office, encouraging interaction and supporting a culture centered on connection. Kitchens and shared dining areas double as informal meeting spots, carrying the same material warmth found across the rest of the workplace.

WHERE IT LANDS

A Workplace That Feels Like PCC

Employees now start their mornings under a mural of Pacific Northwest color, gather over lunch at a communal kitchen table, and take meetings with the water in view — a headquarters that finally looks and feels like the company it was built for.
