Share Our Selves Costa Mesa Clinic

PROJECT NARRATIVE

This two-story, 11,800-square-foot tenant improvement establishes a Federally Qualified Health Center for Share Our Selves, expanding access to coordinated healthcare within the community it serves. The clinic brings together primary care, behavioral health, and preventative and restorative dental care alongside pharmacy and optical services, allowing patients to receive multiple forms of care in a single visit. Exam rooms and clinical support spaces are organized to support efficient caregiver workflows while creating an accessible, welcoming experience for patients.

Spanning two floors, the project required creative planning around existing conditions, including limited ceiling heights and existing vault spaces, while incorporating direct access to the outdoors into the layout. These constraints informed a design approach that made full use of the available footprint without compromising the clinical program.

By consolidating multiple health services under one roof, the completed clinic advances Share Our Selves' mission of delivering coordinated, community-focused care and improving access to essential medical resources for underserved populations.
