Regent Surgery Center of Amarillo

PROJECT NARRATIVE
This new cardiovascular ASC project was initiated in response to recent regulations permitting cardiovascular procedures in an outpatient environment. This change was crucial as there were no licensed surgery centers in the area capable of performing these procedures outside of a hospital setting. The project encompasses a 9,500-square=foot facility featuring two state-of-the-art operating rooms (ORs) equipped with highly complex GE imaging equipment alongside traditional operating room apparatus.
The operating rooms are designed with illuminated cabinets to ensure all devices are easily accessible, enhancing the efficiency and safety of surgical procedures. The lighting system is highly specialized, offering a range of adjustments and dimming options to cater to various procedural requirements, ensuring optimal visibility and comfort for the surgical team.
In designing this facility, special consideration was given to the new HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) evaluation system, which assesses patient opinions on their environmental surroundings. With this in mind, materials were carefully selected not only for their functionality but also for their aesthetic appeal, contributing to a visually pleasing space that enhances the overall patient experience.
This project represents a significant advancement in providing accessible cardiovascular care in an outpatient setting, addressing a critical gap in the local healthcare infrastructure. The facility’s design and equipment aim to deliver high-quality care while ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction. By incorporating advanced imaging technology and thoughtful design elements, the new cardiovascular ASC is poised to become a leading center for outpatient cardiovascular procedures in the region.
