Boulder Community Foothills Hospital Anderson Medical Center

PROJECT NARRATIVE
As Boulder Community Health continued the growth of its Foothills Medical Campus, a 47,290-square-foot multi-specialty medical office building was designed to expand outpatient services and strengthen connectivity across the campus. The facility supports physician practices, a three-operating-room ambulatory surgery center, and cardiopulmonary services, providing a modern environment aligned with Boulder Community Health's long-term vision for coordinated, patient-centered care.
Delivered as a key phase of the campus's original master plan, the building is physically connected to both the hospital and an existing medical office building via a pedestrian bridge, which also accommodates patient transport when necessary. This integrated circulation strategy creates a seamless experience for patients, providers, and staff while reinforcing the architectural cohesion of the broader campus. Maintaining continuous, uninterrupted operation of existing facilities throughout construction was a key project driver, guiding sequencing and coordination from the outset.
Sustainability was a central design goal, with the project targeting LEED Silver certification. Energy modeling indicates a 30% reduction in energy costs, supported in part by a 36-kilowatt photovoltaic array installed to provide onsite electricity generation. Together, these strategies reflect Boulder Community Health's commitment to environmental stewardship and a broader focus on high-performance, sustainable healthcare environments.
