Amazon Spheres Banana Cart

PROJECT NARRATIVE

A unique community-focused amenity extends the culture and identity of Amazon's corporate campus into the public realm. Building upon the success of an original banana cart and subsequent trailer-based iterations, the project transformed a mobile Airstream platform into a highly recognizable destination for distributing complimentary bananas to employees, visitors, and the surrounding neighborhood.

The design team provided architecture, interior design, and graphic design services to create an experience that was approachable, memorable, and operationally efficient. Design considerations balanced practical requirements, including power, ventilation, secure storage, staff work areas, and high-volume inventory capacity, with a welcoming and distinctly Amazon character. The stand was designed to accommodate daily distribution volumes reaching dozens of cases of bananas while maintaining a compact footprint and strong visual presence.

Drawing on years of experience supporting Amazon workplace and campus initiatives, the design team developed an environment that reinforces community engagement through simple, recognizable branding and thoughtful user-centered design. The project demonstrates an ability to deliver small but highly visible experiences that strengthen placemaking, foster interaction, and contribute to the identity of a larger corporate campus.
